About the role
The Head of Data leads Katalon's data strategy, platform, and governance to empower business decisions, product innovation, and AI initiatives. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to build scalable data capabilities, drive operational excellence, and enable the organization to leverage data and AI as competitive advantages.
Your Responsibilities
Define and execute Katalon's enterprise data strategy to support business growth, product innovation, and AI initiatives.
Build and scale modern data platforms and architecture that enable analytics, machine learning, and AI-powered products.
Establish enterprise-wide data governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance standards (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to deliver actionable insights and AI-ready data capabilities.
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, Generative AI, and AI-powered decision-making where they create measurable business value.
Develop scalable data pipelines, KPIs, executive dashboards, and self-service analytics to foster a data-driven culture.
Evaluate and implement modern data and AI technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Data team while driving technical excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, or Business Intelligence, including leadership experience in high-growth technology or SaaS companies.
Proven track record of defining and executing enterprise data strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
Technical Expertise
Strong experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), data orchestration (Airflow), streaming technologies (Kafka), and scalable data architectures.
Strong programming skills in SQL and Python.
AI & Leadership
Solid understanding of machine learning, MLOps, and building AI-ready data platforms.
Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, vector databases, or RAG architectures is a strong plus.
Ability to translate business strategy into data and AI roadmaps, influence executive stakeholders, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills, with a passion for building a data-driven and AI-enabled organization.
Preferred Experience
Experience building AI-native or AI-enabled SaaS products.
Experience with experimentation platforms, recommendation systems, or personalization engines.
Familiarity with AI governance, Responsible AI, and enterprise AI adoption frameworks.
Experience leading Data + AI transformation initiatives across multiple business functions.
