Build and grow AI-powered developer products at Katalon — test real workflows, find the users who need them, and turn experiments into lasting adoption.
Founded in 2016, Katalon is the category leader in AI-augmented software testing, empowering hybrid testers - those blending manual, automation, and AI skills - to deliver exceptional digital experiences. Katalon enables software teams of any size to deliver world-class customer experiences faster, easier, and more efficiently.
Since its first launch, Katalon has experienced tremendous growth, serving more than 30,000 teams across 80+ countries, many of which are in the Fortune Global 500. Katalon has been named a G2 Leader in software testing for 11 consecutive quarters and a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years.
About the role
We’re looking for an AI builder who can figure out where a new product belongs in the market and get the right people using it. You should be as comfortable testing an agentic workflow as deciding who needs it, where to reach them, and what would make them come back.
You’ll own the work of connecting the product with its users. That means recommending which audiences to pursue, testing the opportunity with real people, and changing direction when the evidence calls for it. You’ll work closely with the product manager, engineering, and design, with direct input into positioning, onboarding, and product priorities.
This role suits someone who sees an emerging developer workflow and immediately wants to try it, question it, and work out what opportunity it creates. Bring original ideas and the initiative to test them.
What you will own
Find the users with the strongest need. Study how developers and testers work, talk to them, and identify where software quality creates friction. Recommend promising user segments and use cases, with a clear reason to prioritize each.
Build with the tools your users use. Test real workflows, create convincing demos and lightweight prototypes, and learn the product’s strengths and limits firsthand. Show where it adds measurable value beyond native coding agents and turn that evidence into specific reasons to try it.
Create a route into the market. Earn attention in relevant developer communities and test channels that reach the right people. Identify potential integration partners and support outreach and joint demos, working with engineering on technical feasibility. Contribute something valuable to each community you engage.
Run growth experiments end to end. Form a hypothesis, build and improve the website or landing page with design support, set up measurement, and follow results from acquisition through to activation and repeat use. Scale what works and stop what doesn’t.
Improve discovery through SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). Test how useful technical content, clear product information, and credible references affect visibility in search and AI-generated answers. Track the quality of the users they bring.
Turn early users into product insight. Recruit and onboard pilot users, deliver fluent English demos, and investigate objections and drop-off. Improve messaging and onboarding, and bring the product team evidence that helps them decide what to build or change.
Job requirements
Broad, hands-on AI building experience. You’ve built useful software, agents, or automations and can show your work. You have deep practical experience with at least one agentic development tool, such as Codex, Claude Code, Kiro, or Cursor, and can quickly learn and compare others.
Strong product and market judgment. You can look beyond a feature list, recognize a valuable use case, identify who cares, and propose a credible way to reach them. You’re willing to challenge an attractive idea when the evidence is weak.
Practical growth experience. You’ve tested ways to improve discovery, activation, or repeat use and can explain the hypothesis, your contribution, the result, and what you changed afterward. Experience with software testing, developer products, SEO, or GEO / AI search optimization is a plus.
Fluent spoken and written English. You can lead user conversations, deliver technical demos to users, partners, and executives, handle unscripted questions, and write persuasive copy grounded in what the product actually does.
A current, informed view of AI for software engineering. You actively use new tools, follow changes in models and coding agents, and learn from X, GitHub, and developer communities. You can distinguish a change worth testing from a trend worth ignoring.
Independent execution and analytical discipline. You move from an idea to a working experiment, use AI to accelerate your work, and inspect the results critically. You’re comfortable with Git, APIs, lightweight web development, and basic analytics, and know when to work with engineering or design.
Preferred Experience
Background in software engineering or technical product management.
Experience in developer marketing or technical developer relations.
